VIRL on CLN - FAQ

@alejo wrote:

What is CLN (Cisco Learning Network)

The Cisco Learning Network (CLN) is a free membership that features Certification Exam Topics, Technical Forums, Technical Seminars & IT Training Videos, Learning Games and Certification Exam Topics.

How to Join CLN

I do not have a CCO ID and I am not a member of CLN

I have a CCO ID, but I am not a member of CLN

I have a CCO ID and I am already a member of CLN

What is a CCO ID

  • A Cisco Connection Online ID (CCO ID) is your personal log in for many things Cisco. A CCO ID gives you access to training, promotions, events and purchased or subscribed software. Without a CCO ID, you will not be able to participate in the community.

Why are we moving platforms

The Community is moving to the Cisco Learning Network to better serve you; our user. On the CLN Network, you will find additional training resources in addition to all the familiar articles and resources.

What is the CLN Premium

CLN Premium is a subscription based service offered in monthly, quarterly, or yearly billing intervals. It has all the benefits of the CLN free membership, in addition to over 900 training videos and 15 sample Cisco Learning Labs.

Do I have to join CLN to access the VIRL Community?

Yes. You have to register with CLN but you do not have to subscribe to CLN Premium content. A free account is all you need to continue to participate in your community. By joining the new CLN VIRL Support Community, you will receive a coupon for one month free access to Premium CLN content.

Do I have to join the new CLN VIRL group (community)?

No. You can view and search posts, documentation and other content in the community, but if you want to post or ask a question you will need to join the CLN VIRL group.

Can I still access the old VIRL Support Community?

Yes. After the move to CLN, the old VIRL Support Community will be still be available to search and view posts for 90 days. However, you will not be able to start or answer any new or ongoing threads. The old community will be 'read only'. Active threads will be migrated over as quickly as possible.

I have an active thread, will I have to start all over again?

The simple answer is no. We will do our best to move all active threads as quickly as possible. Active threads with high activity will be moved first, followed by new but less active threads. Any post older than 30 days will not be moved unless still active. Of course, you are welcome to start a new discussion and reference any pertinent or related thread on Discourse (Old VIRL community).
