I've got a VIRL VM running with 8GB Ram and 4vCPUs? How many virtual machines can I run?
This is a YMMV question but here goes:
Using just one type of virtual machine instance for maximum memory efficiency -
IOSv instances - 12
IOS XRv instances - 2
CSR1000v instances - 2
NXOSv instances - 2
ASAv instances - 3
IOSvL2 instances - 9
Ubuntu Servers - 12Simple mix of virtual machines (less memory efficiency) -
IOS XRv - 2 and IOSv - 2 (4 VMs in total)
CSR1000v - 2 and IOSv - 2 (4 VMs in total)
NXOSv - 2 and IOSv - 2 (4 VMs in total)
ASAv - 3 and IOSv - 1 (4 VMs in total)
IOSvL2 - 2 and IOSv - 10 (12 VMs in total)
IOSvL2 - 2 and IOSv - 8 and Ubunut Servers - 2 (12 VMs in total)This is just an indication of what can be achieved without tuning the VIRL Server in any way.
